Course description: The teaching of cardiothoracic surgery ao undergraduate level aims at familiarising the students in the Surgical field in this modern field in the frontier of medicine. The knowledge gained in this course will help the future doctor in the handling of problems of patients that have undergone cardiac surgery. This is important since tens of thousands of patients today indergo this form of treatment and it will continue so in the foreseeable future.
